Realmer
A Realmer, shortened from "Skeleton Realmer" is an individual who subscribes to the "Skeleton Realm Lifestyle" as set forth by Skeleton Realm, a multinational think tank and global thought consortium.
History
The first instance of the term "Realmer" was in the Skeleton Realm discord channel when Realmer Groovy Dude Ellen said "hi realmers" in the general chat. The term "Realmer" became adopted in Episode 26 of Skeleton Realm LIVE! when Realmer Brewski called into the show to say hello to his fellow Realmers.[1]
The group started out as a small community of people who shared a common interest in Skeleton Realm. Over the years, the group has grown and now includes members from all over the world, who come together to share stories, discuss topics, and provide support to one another.
The group has also developed its own set of traditions and rules. The group is also known for its support and friendship. Members are often quick to offer help to one another, and they take great pride in the fact that they can rely on each other no matter what.
Finally, the group has become a symbol of success in the online world. Over the years, the members have achieved a great deal of success in their respective fields, from entrepreneurs to writers to developers. In this way, the group serves as an inspiration for others to strive for success in their own chosen paths.
Notable events
In Episode 52, Realmer Body Stats decreased an incredible 923,334%, which was later revealed to be a result of Tiny Jack skewing the statistics.[2]
In Episode 63, it was revealed that some radical Realmers had splintered into armed Realmer factions and were fighting over the terms of the 1986 treaty, among other things. Skeleton Realm founders Doug Bleichner and Sam Wagstaff remain committed to peace, and have issued 'stand down' orders to all factions, including their own loyalist armies and their brigade of robot soldiers.[3]
Realmer cultural development
In the process of doing anthropological research into their own community, Bleichner and Wagstaff discovered in Episode 64 that "Realmer culture is flourishing" after going through various natural disasters, population fluctuations, and conflicts. Now with a stable climate and agricultural surplus product, YouTube chatters have begun constructing detailed and realistic monuments to Gab, the "celebrated chat 'spirit.'"
Discord chatters (specifically the wealthier Paters, and not white names) have also begun establishing the foundations of a system of mathematics, which started with bartering and basic counting using their hands and has now moved into advanced algebra and formal logic. Paters are also creating pottery adorned with intricate designs, beyond the rudimentary gorb form, and Bleichner predicts the artfully decorated containers could be used as chamber pots (which are pre-plumbing portable poop-toilets "meant for nocturnal use in the bedroom" [4] ) as early as Episode 65.
In addition, the research revealed that the famous Realmer Linman had developed his own Streamer's Hunchback.[5]
Skeleton Realm Lifestyle
Core tenets of the Skeleton Real Lifestyle include being respectful and kind to others, while still having a good time and enjoying "hardcore humor." It means taking the time to appreciate the people in your life and the world around you, and doing things that bring you joy and make you smile while also enjoying "hardcore humor".
Scientists believe it could mean spending time with friends and family, exploring new places, going for a walk, or just taking a few moments to relax and appreciate the beauty of the world. It also means being mindful of how your words and actions might affect others, and being mindful of the impact of your decisions on those around you.
Rejection of Severely Normal Mentation
Realmers pride themselves in rejecting what co-founder Doug Bleichner has coined "Severely Normal Mentation" or SNM, which are "thought patterns common to severely normal people." A person suffering with SNM uses various common, usually trending words, phrases and patterns of thought in their day to day social niceties. Bleichner believes that SNM has traditionally manifested most powerfully in generational patterns of humor.
Bleichner has stated that "...humor which has been informed by large scale intersections of severely normal sensibilities and thought patterns is the key manifestation of severely normal individual's imprint on culture. The humor presented to us by this culmination of millions of SNM sufferers is the most highly condensed and viewable form of SNM, and so it is plainly available for study and critique. Humor is the point at which the contact between the severely normal and the Realmer is able to take place."
Realmers reject SNM and embrace a new type of thinking, one that involves drawing from core human emotions that are inherently unique to each individual. In this way, being a Realmer means embracing one's own unique personality and "thought profile," while finding a way to share and convey one's own inner thoughts and feelings with the larger Realmer community.
Realmer "hierarchy"
Background
All Realmers are important and unique, but the community has been top-down classified and categorized in various hierarchies throughout Skeleton Realm history-- especially in terms of their monetary contributions to the Realm and the colors of their online display names. Cash-style contributions that increase a Realmer's status in the community include Patreon subscriptions (becoming a "Pater"), buying official merchandise swagger (Skele Swag) or Fabricia ("Khakies"), YouTube livestream "Superchatters" and "Gifties" who gift chat subscriptions (aka "Greenie" chatter status), Discord subscriptions ("Pinkies" or "MeMoreLabs AdBot Technicians"), Tips for Sips donations ("sip tippers"), and alleged secret "Elite" bribes through platforms like Invoice Solutions by Skeleton Realm. All of these cash-style contributions come with various material and immaterial benefits like analog swag, digital swag, and epic patron-of-the-arts swag. 100% of these monetary contributions go towards the debt that Skeleton Realm hosts Doug Bleichner and Sam Wagstaff owe to Hatreon and MeMoreTV. Bleichner and Wagstaff are also the creators of the majority of Realmer hierarchical terminology.
Somewhat separate from the hierarchy is the crucial category of Key Realmers, which transcends and encompasses various higher and lower levels of Realmer class society. Even the pitiful Discord "Whitenames" and YouTube "Greynames" can become Key Realmers through hard work and determination. There are some groups whose Realmer status is somewhat disputed among the (hard)core Realmer community, with some even accusing these Realmers of secret allegiance to Hatreon, Desktop Dave, the Tracey family, or shadowy figures like Hans Chromen the Dark Swock Lord. Despite this discrimination, many Realmers are very inclusive and optimistic about what constitutes a Realmer with some even referring to certain non-Realmer individuals as "pre-Realmers" or "fellow travellers." Above all, hardcore and unquestioning allegiance to the MeMoreTV brand is what matters most to the vast majority of Realmers.
The color of Realmers' online display names remains a relevant and divisive topic, especially on the Discord server. As Skeleton Realm Reddit moderator and Super Epic Baller kongu once remarked in the general discussion channel: "I have a dream, that one day my children will be judged not by the color of their skin, but by the color of their discord name." Most Paters have disdain for Whitenames and are suspicious of their potentially destructive intentions, their general disobedience towards server norms, and their "freeloading" behavior as non-Paters. Paters often express fears of the possibility of a Whitename uprising against the Elite, which would likely result in the imposition of Discord server martial law by the creators of Skeleton Realm. Historically Paters and Whitenames generally get along, with the "#paters-paradise" Discord channel acting as a form of class and color-based segregation.
Types of Key Realmers
- YouTube chat mods (Dana and Phaser)
- Social media moderators ('Cord Cop TwoShea and Reddit mod kongu)
- Patreon subscribers (Paters), YouTube chat subscribers (Greenies) and Gifties, etc.
- Video clip editors, meme makers, social media pumpers
- Contributors to Skeleton Realm Magazine and Skelepedia (like the First Master Scholar SaltyTea)
- Ancient Realmers aka OG Realmers
- Livestream chatters, Discord chatters, "good vibe" spreaders, etc.
- De facto Key Realmers (such as Linman)
- Uhh... ALL REALMERS ARE KINDA KEY ACTUALLY!!!
Elite Realmer tiers or Pater levels
- HARDCORE ELITE MANIACS - Realmers who pledge $100/month on Patreon, which includes MAXIMUM benefits.
- VIP LORD PREMIUM ELITE (or "Purple Spooners" if status is purchased before joining the Discord) - Realmers who pledge $35/month on Patreon, which includes almost-MAXIMUM benefits like a personalized biographical Skelepedia page.
- Super Epic Ballers - Realmers who pledge $20/month on Patreon. Elite Realmers at this level and above have access to "Exclusive Merch" like stickers, rare shirts, tote bags, and mugs.
- Super Epic Baller Apprentices - Realmers who pledge $10/month on Patreon. This level is distinguished from the lowest Pater level by including "Livestream Call-In" privileges.
- Official Skele Freaks (or "Golden Spooners" if status is purchased before joining the Discord) - Realmers who pledge $5/month on Patreon, which gives them access to "#paters-paradise" on Discord and the live Pater's Pod (PP) on Patreon. Hardcore Paters can also request a package of QR-code sticker swag, which they are encouraged to "stick" in hip places like bathrooms.
Regular-style Realmer identities
- Gifties - Elite YouTube chatters who frequently give gift subscriptions to other Realmer YouTube chatters. The term Gifties first emerged because this epic and generous group of Key Realmers needed a name, specifically for this article.
- Khakies - Discord members who are not Patreon subscribers, but have purchased Doug Bleichner's novel Fabricia (which is also available as a narrated audiobook produced with the help of Sam Wagstaff). Along with the term Gifties, Khakies was first used by Key Realmer and Pater un-amerikana, in response to two dedicated Whitenames who were hoping to have some kind of social distinction to separate them from other non-Elite Realmers.
- Pinkies - Discord members who have subscribed to the Discord server subscription. Following the launch of phase two of AdBot, the MeMoreLabs Technician: Beta Busters EpicAccess+ program, a number of users joined the Discord and became Pinkies specifically to help MeMoreTV test their new advertising technology.
- Greenies - YouTube chatters who have purchased or been gifted a monthly subscription, which allows them to use special emojis and endows them with an epic display name swagger. The term was "coined" and popularized by Key Realmer and Elite Pater kongu.
- Greynames - YouTube chatters who have not purchased or been gifted a monthly subscription, but still send chat messages (often with regular emojis).
- Whitenames - Discord members who are not subscribed on Patreon. The status of this group is especially disputed among Paters and Elite Realmers due to the possibilities of Hater infiltration, but many whitenames have proven themselves to have the best interests of the Realm in mind.
- Sleeper Realmers - Realmers who loosely follow the content of the channel, and are yet to be "activated" as Paters, livestream chatters, or Discord members. They often have a latent desire to become more hardcore, but are repressing it hard to maintain their attachment to Severely Normal Mentation (SNM). A few Key Realmers were once Sleeper Realmers, and have now fully embraced their love for the Realm with no concern for Haters.
Realmers whose Realmer status is disputed
- Davies - individuals who discovered Skeleton Realm through the original Desktop Dave video. Some of these Davies have become Key Realmers, but others are suspected of being hacker style individuals who are surveilling the community for unknown reasons.
- Toe Dippers (TDs) - individuals who join the Discord and leave shortly after, but may still technically be Realmers by virtue of viewing content on other platforms. This term was coined by Key Realmer and Elite Pater Dan on Discord, shortly after an infamous incident of toe-dipping occurred.
- Chippies - individuals who discovered Skeleton Realm through the clipjacking and TikTok style viral success of the "Interrogation of a Terrible Liar and Master Manipulator" video. The clip was even jacked by QVC, the famous livestreamer who signed a two-year contract worth more than freaking LeBron James. Viral success at this level led to many (including the evil clipjacking QVC) misinterpreting the situation; because of the selective editing and stolen valor of clipjackers, they did not understand that Sam Wagstaff was also Doug Bleichner's lawyer at this time and thus the power dynamic depicted in the video is more complex than it seems. The term Chippie was just made up for this article and is not widely used, yet.
- Reformed Hatreon subscribers - individuals who have officially renounced Hater ideology are often accepted into the community, but are generally on thin ice.
